Tuhua day 8- and on until it gets too much!

Tuhua day 8 the time of sadness

Dear diary

This pain was too intense, the grasp to strong for our frail bodies.
The native turned me upside down, holding me by a leg. As the leg reached his head, he bent, and chomped on a bit of my flesh.
This was just too much for Zuleka to bear, so she kicked frantically as my body hung limp, blood streaming down to my face.
However, the native did not stop his act of cannibalism, instead settled down by the garden and bit a piece of Zuleka’s ankle.
This was the feared end, the time to come, as the native had repeated.
I Knew that we would bleed to death, which was a little better than being alive as the native devoured us.
I realized I never got to say goodbye to my parents, to my friends and family.
As soon as this had started, I wanted it to be over.
The life I had was fading slowly, knocking on deaths door.
As if I was falling asleep, my eyes drooped, but this was a sleep I would never wake up from.
I wondered where my classmates were.
The urge to say something to the native came into my mind, but I could not think of the proper words.
As my heartbeat slowed and my breathing weazy, I whispered to Zuleka, “Goodbye my friend, no doubt we will meet again.
Today ends the chapters of my life, but I’ll be watching over you in the beautiful land that awaits me.
Goodbye my friend, you have been loyal, trustworthy, and an overall great companion to end my time with.
See you in the distant land, I’ll be waiting when the time is right for you to join me.”
As I passed on all the love and care that my family had shown me made me weep with sadness, and happiness.
I cried, and ended my story with a smile.

Mia

THE END

Tuhua day 8- the pain goes on

My Tuhua Last continued

Dear Diary,

“ā muri, nāmata” this creature announced. “Time to come.”
Zuleka tried to communicate with this, this, thing, but all it would say was, “ā muri, nāmata” over and over again.
Something in our minds clicked, like the last piece of puzzle finding its place.
This was not a tortured soul, it was most likely an island native. Ahhhh, yes that explained this language.
I racked my brain. In every class I had been in, we had done te reo maori.
The word for hello buzzed around my brain until it reached my tongue.
“Kia ora!” I said.Suddenly changing thoughts and feelings, the native seized Zuleka and I by the necks, and we screamed in agony.
bye,
Mia xXx 0o0

Tuhua day 8- a native welcome

Tuhua day 8

Dear diary,

This morning I woke up feeling fresh. Our house has made me think about my family less and less.
I’m not quite sure if that is good, or bad. =[
By Zuleka’s expression, she is feeling the same way.
Using my powers, I have made a small garden down the side of the house.
It consists of a strawberry bush, and a fejoa tree.
It’s not very big, but it will grow in time.
This is going to be a lazy day, so there is nothing that I need to write about, but I’ll give you my thoughts and things.

What is this place?
What is the time?
Why am I here?’
What was the black cloud?
Have we Time traveled?
Where is Anna now?
Does anyone else have the same powers as me?
Why do I faint so much now?

- Oh no! Something is rustling the bushes . . .
AHHHHHHHH!
It’s sooooo ugly; it looks like something that has been tortured. What is it?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Bye,
Mia, xXx 0o0

TUHUA DAY 7

TUHUA DAY 7

DEAR DIARY,

I woke up that morning and sighed. How much longer on this island?
Hmmmm, something felt different, something was going to happen.
As I looked up, Zuleka was sauntering towards me.
“Mia, can you please be a unicorn, there’s something we need to do.” Not bothering to ask questions, I closed my eyes, cleared my mind, and thought only about unicorns.1,2,3 there!
Now this unicorn needed to find out what the task was.
“Ok, what are we doing?” I asked my companion.
Zuleka was sick and tired of sleeping under the stars, sick of the mosquitoes, and sick of not having anywhere on this island to call home.
Today was the day we would make a home.
Using the things Zuleka had gathered a few days before, and my special power of natural transformation, I changed bits of grass into flax etc. Even when I fainted, we were back on the job in an hour.
Back home in Hamilton, A friend of mine had a book about survival. What was contained in that book had been lots of survival tricks but the one thing I remembered was how to make a bed.
Yes! This would be useful.
Collecting the things was easy, the hard bit was remembering what to do. Step by step I constructed 2 beds out of the natural resources around us.
Meanwhile, Zuleka needed my unicorn horn to stab a hole in a plank of wood to make a door hole.
Gradually, our house was coming together.
The beds I was making were just finished, and I had also made 2 flax blankets (And although they weren’t very well done, they would keep us warm!). Zuleka had one more wall to build, so as I assisted her, it was done in easily an hour and a half.
If we stayed inside, we would only have to use half as much insect repellent, and it would last longer on our stay.
That night was bliss, and all the energy I had lost came back to me.
This was how it should be, I thought happily.

Tuhua day 6- There's a conversation in my head!

Dear Diary,

Now Grass is one of my favourite things to eat.
It's delicious!
Although I can turn into a unicorn, I'm not one all the time.
The magic transformation is caused by myself thinking whether I would like to be a human or unicorn at that particular time.
How I am aware of this, is because last night while it was sleep time, A wise but very young unicorn visited me in my dreams and delivered this informative message.
When I had announced my presence to the new day, Zuleka was yet to rise and shine, mumbling softly under her breath, "Hello, hello are you still there, hello?!"
I couldn't quite work out whether she was having a dream or a nightmare. While I was thinking this over, Zuleka silently arose from the deep sleep she was in and said to me, "Mia, we're not alone. Alyssa and Michaela are here as well because I talked to them. They also have other people with them. Some of those others have mysterious powers too."
I couldn't believe it ! All these things we were experiencing, others were going through it also! It wasn't just us!
But then it hit me.
"Zuleka," I asked, "How did you know all this?"
Zuleka explained to me in great detail the conversation that had happened in her mind. She also informed me of one other thing.
She must be telepathic.
Man, another weird power?
This island was getting stranger by the minute.

Bye,

Mia xXx OoO

TuHuA dAy 5- SOmEtHiNg"S oN mY hEaD!

Dear Diary,

Now that Anna's a spirit, she needs to have a spirit friend, so she had gone in search of one, even though we would miss her and were still mourning the loss of Anna complete, we knew this was important to our dear friend.
That day, Zuleka used her power to fly around the bushy area to look for twigs and leaves to make a shelter.
Ha, no more nights under the stars I suppose.
While Zuleka was absent, I got really hungry. i couldn't use my power because there was no one around to look after me when I passed out.
Some of my friends ate grass, so finally hunger won me over.
The blade of grass was foul, but I managed to get it down.
After that, I was horrifically drowsy, and therefore decided to go to sleep.
I woke up with a throbbing headache.
Zuleka was back from her venture to collect possible shelter material.
Zuleka was acting very weird! She was prodding me with sticks so screaming at her,I said, "Go away Zuleka, I'm not some wild animal you know, I'm one of your friends!"
Astonished, Zuleka gave me the advice to feel the top of my head. I took this. ON my head was something very unusual for a girl to ahve. It was very strong and unsnappable. A horn! It all was clicking into place. The headache, Zuleka's behaivour. Of course! That one piece of grass had turned me into a unicorn!
"Well, am I cute?" I joked. Zuleka chuckled.
We were still buddies, and that was the most important thing of all.

Bye,

MIA xXx oOo

Tuhua day 4- the day one left us

Day 4
Dear diary,
I woke up that night to screaming, terrified.
Anna was clutching her stomach, battling excrutiating bursts of suffering.
Zuleka was quietly sobbing, for we were all she had left on this island.
We couldn't help our friend, so, powerless, I felt to blame.
Anna's screaming seemed to slow, the loudness fading.
Fantastic! This unfortunate suffering had stopped.
Anna's eyes drooped, so Zuleka reached out to feel a steady pulse flowing through the veins of Anna's wrists.
As Anna calmed, her pulse dropped its pattern.
Startled, Zuleka yelled to my trembling wreck of a body,
"Hurry up! Just do something to make her well again. We're losing her!"
I tried to hold back the tears, but he continued to run down my cheeks like a river rolling down a mountain.
Just then, Anna's pulse went altogether.
Zukeka and I clutched each other,my tears dripping onto Zuleka's shoulders.
Anna's corpse lay on the grassy ground, motionless.
The saddest and ultimately depressing thing was that Anna's parents had no way of knowing that their beloved daughter had passed on, into the beautiful land.
I stared at the ground, conjuring up some comforting words to say to my distressed friend Zuleka.
"oh, isn't this terrible," a mysterious voice called out to us.
Oh my word! A silvery mist wisped in the wind.
This spirit dancing in the wind was grinning at us.
From that smile, I knew it was Anna, but not quite complete.
She explained to us the torture she had gone through, just by swallowing a few mouthfuls of the black lake water, before I had changed the substance.
Zuleka ran to Anna, her eyes bright with thankfulness. As Zuleka reached Anna, she put her arms around the mist and attempted to hug this spirit.
To Zuleka's disappointment, there was nothing to hug, so Zuleka simply became wet with the moisture in Anna's spirit mist.
Although Anna was a spirit, she was still our friend.
that's all for now,

Tuhua Diary day 2

Day 2

Dear diary,

Continued . . .

Aching, Zuleka, Anna and me stumbled into the bush. Zuleka was still in shock. he was gasping, and it looked to me as if she was having an asthma attack. But i knew she wasn't asthmatic.
We continued to hobble along like elderly people. We were in short supply of water, there was only a few mouthfuls left.
Suddenly a piercing noise came from next to me. The startling and slightly defeaning sound was Anna, squealing in delight.
I wondered wht she had seen, and looked in the direction Anna was.
There, behind a hill, was a lake.
my heart pounded, faster, faster, my body shook, unable to function correctly.
my mind went blank, my body still.

My eyes burst open, and i felt strange, different.
Zuleka and Anna helped me up.
I walked, dizzily. to the lake.
It didn't look very deep, but like a hole of emptiness, the water was black.
I bent down, filled up the drink bottle we had, and drank.
Ewwwwwwwwwwwww . . .
I spat it out. I wished as hard as I could that it was drinkable. The thirstiness was eating me up inside. My Fingers tingled. i took another sip. WIERD! it waas refreshing, nice, clean fresh water.
I Had magical powers!

TUHUA

Day 2 evening and Day 3

Dear diary,

Hiya!

Last that you heard from me, I had just developed my powers. Well, after that, I passed out and spent the next hour lying on the ground with a blanket of leaves over me.
Zuzu and Anna looked after me very well, like mother hens bustling about, attending to my every need.
After an hour, I felt perfectly fine.
But, I'm sooooo hungry!
There's a lot of mosquitoes around. Well, I guess it's lucky that one of the items we grabbed out of the sea was insect repellent!
It's a night under the stars for me.

Goodnight, mia XxX =)

I'm back!

We are starting a new adventure and traveling west.
I am so dehydrated I can't take another step!
Anna is very tired and quite grumpy! I wish she'd calm down.
Uh-oh!
We can't go any further as there is a steep rocky ridge.
We've walked a;; this way for nothing!
As, we're deciding where to go next, Zuleka got a disturbed look on her her face, and stumbled around. I realised what was happening but was too tired for my brain to click into action.
Before Anna and I could stop her, Zuleka's frail body toppled over the edge of the ridge.
She was falling, falling into the unknown! It woke my body instantly, like I was drinking a hot cup of coffee. Suddenly, I burst into tears and shouted, "Zuleka!" Anna screamed, "Are you still alive?"
We were desperate, but it looked as if it was just the two of us from now on.
"Zuleka," whispered weakly.
I glanced at Anna her glasses were smudged and she was huddled on the ground, with and expression on her face that was as miserable as I felt. She rose up next to me and glumly we turned our backs to the tradgedy spot, and shuffled slower than a snail.
Anna an I ground to a halt as a depressing sigh came from the scene behind.
We spun around. You'll never believe who was hovering in front of us.
Yep, Zuleka! We ran over to our unscathed friend. Anna was nearly in tears but managed to ask, "How?"
Zuleka answered her question with a descriptive and breath-taking experience. My eyes were almost popping out of their sockets!

Zuleka had a special power like me!

I didn't know what was going on, but it was freaking me out!

Bye,
mia XxX
